Your Body is Your Lifestyle

New Year’s is upon us and with the New Year comes everyone’s resolutions of eating better, getting in shape, and losing those extra 20+ pounds.  This year instead of resolving to get in shape and lose weight, make a resolution to change your lifestyle.  What does changing your lifestyle mean?  To change your lifestyle is to change unhealthy habits with healthy habits and to do that on a consistent basis.  Making this sort of change will be the best thing that you will ever do for yourself.  Trust me, we help people make this type of change every day and with extraordinary results.

To change your lifestyle you need to change some of your current habits.  Get out of the habit of inactivity and start exercising.  Change your habit of consuming unhealthy foods and beverages.  End your habit of procrastination.  Every day that you give in to procrastination is just another day that you have been pulled farther from your goals.

How many times have you told yourself that you will start eating healthy tomorrow?  How many times have you made a promise to start exercising and getting in shape?  Think back to when you were in your best shape.  Was it in high school or college?  Now think back to how you felt then, like you were on top of the world.  Wouldn’t you like to feel that way again?  I’m here to tell you that you can.  You do not have to be beholden to those negative feelings of being overweight or out of shape any longer.

We all have obstacles that get in the way.  Your job, family obligations, our schedule, an old injury, ultimately we have the body and health that we accept.  Let that really sink in.  You have the body and health that you accept.  However you can change it.

You can make a lifestyle change and the best time to start that lifestyle change is right now.  Not tomorrow, not next week, not next paycheck.  Don’t put it off any longer.  Don’t accept some false idea that you are stuck with the body and health that you currently have and that’s just the way it is.  To make this change you need to take full responsibility in making it.  Others may aide you but in the end you are the one that is going to make it happen.  You have to sincerely want this change and want it bad enough to make it your personal mission.  No one else can do it for you.  Do not let past failures creep in.  We can do amazing things when we put our minds to something.  Know and believe that you are capable of losing weight and getting in better health.  Failing isn’t the worst thing that can happen.  Not trying is.  We only fail when we decide we are going to give up.  There is a particularly quote in the Batman Begins movie I love.  “Why do we fall?  So we can learn to pick ourselves back up”.  If you stumble and fall, don’t give up, get back up and keep at it.  Do not accept failure as an option.

What is the best way to ensure your motivation stays strong and you are held accountable?  The best solution is to hire a personal trainer for support and for fat burning workouts.  Gyms sell access to equipment, but access to equipment means nothing if you do not have a workout plan and nutrition guideline to follow.  Personal trainers know that we are all not one size fits all.  We are all unique individuals and all of our uniqueness must be taken into account when a workout and nutrition plan is designed.  Personal trainers put the personal in the trainer.  All of your individualized measurements are taken into account, your personal food likes and dislikes, any injuries you might have, any other goals you might have for your fitness level.  We get excited when we talk about getting you the body and health of your dreams, this is what we do every single day for our clients.

You can make a lifestyle change, you do not have to accept your current body if you are unhappy with it. You can look and feel better!  You can look and feel younger!  Do not put if off any longer, make the choice to change your lifestyle in the New Year!
